How I Made My First 1.000$ On Medium Last Month
Here’s why it was easier than expected, yet took longer than presumed
It feels like yesterday that I dropped my very first of the 130 articles I’ve published so far on this platform.
In November 2018, I discovered the possibility to post my own blog articles on Medium. Back then, I didn’t have a clue that it was possible to earn money with them.
All I initially wanted was to bring my passion for the English language to life. The only purpose I saw for writing online was to have a creative hobby to process my thoughts and experiences.
Maybe others could also profit from my experiences and failures, but I didn’t expect anything in return. I just liked the idea.
So I did precisely that with my first articles.
I’ve written them in a manner that felt right. When I’m reading them today, I feel embarrassed and can’t imagine that I’ve written these cringy pieces.
They’re full of mistakes, long sentence fragments, and too many pictures.
They read like journal entries, which they basically were.
I constantly see new writers making the same ridiculous mistakes that keep them from earning legit money from their articles.
